— On February 19th, Finlay defended his SMASH Championship against Tajiri in front of 3,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan. After the match, Finlay cut a promo and said, “Keep wrestling classic. If you ever need me, I will come back. This is not the end, this is the new beginning.” Finlay then laid the belt in the middle of the ring and left. As noted earlier, Tajiri’s SMASH promotion will be shutting down after their March 14th event due to a falling out between Tajiri and promotion owner Masakazu Sakai.
— Brodus Clay returned to action at last night’s RAW live event from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. He defeated David Otunga. There are conflicting reports on the Clay match as he may have just had one of his dancing Divas with him – Ariane Andrew. “Ryback” Skip Sheffield was also in action, defeating Alex Riley in a squash match. Eve Torres, who was advertised to face Beth Phoenix, appeared to just cut a promo on her situation with Zack Ryder. Phoenix ended up defending the Divas Title against Eve Torres.
