— Former NFL star/actor Alex Karras passed away this morning at the age of 77. Karras was one of many NFL stars in the 1950s and ’60s who entered pro wrestling to make money during the off-season. When he was banned from the NFL in 1963, Karras was in a feud with Dick the Bruiser. Jim Ross posted the following today about his passing… “RIP Alex Karras, Mongo in ‘Blazing Saddles’ & former Detroit Lions DT. Plus, he had a famous pro wrestling issue w/ Dick the Bruiser. #WWE.”
— Irv Muchnick shared an interesting story about interviewing Karras in 1971 at this link.
— Following what some thought was a nasty bump from the ring to the floor on Monday Night RAW, Sheamus appears to be fine as he worked last night’s WWE SmackDown tapings with no signs of injury.
