There has been a lot of discussion internally about WWE’s long-term future in terms of overseas expansion. The company’s vision has always been that business in the US would hit a cap in terms of business percentage and that international expansion should be the focus, including establishing TV, live events and such. However, the belief that the company’s business would end up split 50/50 between domestic and overseas hasn’t panned out and in fact the percentage of domestic business has increased.
There are now those in the company questioning where the next international boom market will be; the company failed to expand as much as hoped in Italy, Mexico, Spain, France, Germany and Turkey. WWE is trying to focus on Europe and Asia, feeling that Australia and the UK are two international markets that will always be strong for the company.
