Due to the current US Government shutdown, US troops overseas could not watch the WWE Battleground PPV or NFL Football. These events are traditionally shown for free on the Armed Forces Network, but due to the shutdown, the Armed Forces Network is only showing news programming.
TMZ reports today that Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is ordering certain furloughed employees at the Dept. of Defense to return to work. That includes the Armed Forces Network, and it has been confirmed that the NFL games will return to the network during the Government shutdown.
No word at this time if WWE programming is set to return along with the NFL.
Absolutely pathetic.
