— Cody Knott’s horror-comedy Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies will be released in March. It stars Roddy Piper, Shane Douglas, Kurt Angle, Matt Hardy, Hacksaw Duggan and others. It follows a group of wrestlers who are booked for a private show in an abandoned prison, only to find out they’ve been trapped inside with a zombie army who rise from the dead to get revenge against one of them.
The film ended the First Annual Rocks Off Pro Wrestling Film Festival last year in New York City. It’s received good reviews from Yahoo and Giant Freakin Robot. It’s also doing well in IMDB voting for best zombie film of 2014.
The producers have now started a campaign to convince AMC Theaters to run the film during Wrestlemania 30 week. They are asking fans to tweet @AMCTheatres using #ProWrestlersvsZombies to request that the chain show the film during that week.
— Batista and Brooke Hogan have been announced as part of the cast for the new horror film L.A. Slasher. The film is described as follows…
“L.A. Slasher is a biting, social satire about reality TV and the glorification of people who are famous for simply being famous, “L.A. Slasher” explores why it has become acceptable and even admirable for people to become influential and wealthy based on no merit or talent – purely through notoriety achieved through shameful behavior. Incensed by the tabloid culture, which celebrates it, the L.A. Slasher publicly abducts a series of reality TV stars, while the media and general public in turn begin to question if society is better off without them.”
