According to sources, there was sadness in regards to Nick Dinsmore’s release. Dinsmore was said to be a good trainer and was well liked by the talent. Many felt that he ended up on the wrong side of someone politically and that led to his departure.
As for Matt Mortiaro, many were surprised that he was released. He worked as an on-air personality when WWE developmental was branded as Florida Championship Wrestling and worked behind the scenes in NXT. He was looked at as a “Triple H guy,” and was considered a hard worker. Unlike Dinsmore, there was not a lot of talent upset when Mortiaro got released. While he was reportedly good at his job, he was considered “abrasive” in his dealings with the talent and overall was not popular among wrestlers for the way he was said to treat them.
