There has apparently been some kind of contact between WWE and the CM Punk camp in the past few weeks, as his merchandise was added back to the WWE Shop website and he is still in the plans for next year’s Flintstones movie.
A source close to Punk described it as “loose ends being tied up.”
Punk has not signed a new performer deal and is not returning to WWE. The source close to Punk insisted that he is a retired pro wrestler and won’t be wrestling for any company.
Regarding the merchandise issue, Punk was under a WWE deal through July, so the company had the rights to sell his merchandise. Once he left in July, he took the rights to his likeness and name with him, since he’s owned the name for years, long before signing with WWE.
