Several new networks are reportedly “skeptical” about signing TNA to a contract because of a negative stigma associated with wrestling at the moment. The fact that Spike TV dropped the show, even with decent ratings, is also hurting TNA’s negotiations. Networks have questioned why Spike would cancel a show that brings in between a million and 1.4 million viewers every week.
The rumor is that Spike doesn’t have confidence in TNA management’s ability to help the company grow. The ratings themselves have also fallen some. While Spike has denied that Vince Russo being secretly employed was an issue, it’s said that Russo’s role still played a part in their decision.
