— IGN is reporting that CM Punk is now officially a writer for the Startling Sports Stories #1 comic from DC Comics; mature readers imprint, Vertigo.
Punk is scheduled to work on an issue with writers Brian Azzarello, Paul Pope, Gilbert Hernandez and Darick Robertson.
Startling Sports Stories #1 is scheduled for a March 2015 release and will be Punk’s second published comic this year, as he is currently working on Marvel’s Thor Annual #1, which is scheduled for a February release.
— The next guest on WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ weekly “Ross Report” podcast, which drops next Tuesday night at 9pm EST., will be masked wrestling legend Len “The Grappler” Denton, who will be appearing to promote his new book, “Grappler: The Diary of a Masked Madman.”
After Denton, JR will interview former WWE Diva Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon) on January 20th, WWE Hall Of Famer Terry Funk on January 27th and Ring Of Honor star Adam Cole on February 3rd. All of those shows will be available at the official home of the Ross Report show, which is located online at PodcastOne.com, as well as iTunes.
— Friday night’s episode of WWE Smackdown was steady in the rating but down a touch in viewers. The show drew 2.43 million viewers and a 0.7 18 – 49 demographics rating, down 6% and even from last week’s 2.58 million and 0.7. The household rating should be available later.
This is the last Friday night episode, with the show moving to Thursday this week.
