UPDATE: Samoa Joe posted to Twitter following his WWE debut at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable, saying:
Notice has been given, I give no quarter I take no prisoners. You ready? #NXTTakeOverUnstoppable
— Samoa Joe (@SamoaJoe) May 21, 2015
In related news, WWE is already selling the shirt Joe wore at Takeover here. The fact that WWE is selling official merchandise with Joe’s name on it suggests that he’ll be keeping his name.
ORIGINAL: As you likely know by now, Samoa Joe made his debut at the end of NXT Takeover: Unstoppable, staring down Kevin Owens after Owens retained his NXT Title. Joe was brought in backstage “just a minute or two” before he came out. Nobody knew he was there until right before he debuted as they kept him hidden out back in a bus.
The word is that Joe will work dates with NXT and still be able to work independently, similar to the deals Rhyno and Brian Kendrick have. There were several people in TNA who were reportedly concerned that Joe would debut tonight.
