– WWE issued a statement after AZFamily.com reported that a woman tried to buy tickets off WWE.com and was sold duplicates. Shannon Royal told the site that she tried to buy tickets for her son’s twelfth birthday directly off the main website but got confirmation from a website called OnlineCityTickets.com. She received tickets from Tickemaster but was told on the day of the show that tickets with the same bar code had already been scanned. She paid $200 for the tickets.
Royal spoke with OnlineCityTickets and they apologized and said to call back in the morning but didn’t give an explanation or a refund. She eventually received a credit. A WWE spokesperson said they do not sell tickets through OnlineCityTickets.com and said they are looking into the matter, issuing this statement:
“The arena box office and Ticketmaster are the safest, most secure and only authorized destinations to purchase tickets for WWE events at Talking Stick Resort Arena.”
