UPDATE: At the end of last night’s NXT house show in Poughkeepsie, New York Finn Balor said he was staying in NXT. Balor, Austin Aries and Samoa Joe fought in a triple threat match, which Joe retained after which Balor cut a promo saying he wasn’t going anywhere despite his NXT Title loss late last week. ORIGINAL: According to sources, Finn Balor may stay in NXT for another month or so. Samoa Joe’s NXT Title win had been planned for a while and that there were other events where it was discussed making the title change on, with the original plan for Joe to win the championship and then build to a stipulation match at the next NXT Takeover. This was the plan before Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows debuted on RAW and may still be the case.
The best indicator of what the company’s direction will be is when they tape more NXT episodes next week in Full Sail University. The next NXT Takeover is June 8th.
