There have been a lot of questions regarding Brock Lesnar working a September 24th WWE live event instead of the September 25th Clash of the Champions PPV.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lesnar’s contract calls for different pay for live events vs. PPV events, due to PPV matches being longer main event style matches, and his live event appearances being quick matches or squashes.
WWE asked Lesnar to work the Chicago event and he agreed. Lesnar chose his opponent based on who was available that night who he felt would mean the most at the box office.
