Randy Orton Pulled From WWE’s Backlash PPV

UPDATE: PWInsider updated their story and noted that Orton’s issues appear to be concussion related, which would likley mean he hasn’t passed an Impact concussion test yet.

Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer reports that Kane could be Orton’s replacement against Wyatt. Kane replaced Orton at a live event in Raleigh, North Carolina this past weekend, beating Wyatt in a match. So unless a surprise happens, Kane would be the most likely replacement.

Meltzer said that there is no confirmation on what Orton’s injury is, but noted that he took a legitimate beating from Lesnar at SummerSlam.

ORIGINAL: Randy Orton will not compete in tonight’s match with Bray Wyatt at WWE Backlash. There’s no word on how WWE will handle the cancellation of the match in regards to storylines. Orton is backstage in Richmond, Virgina, but hasn’t been cleared after the TKO finish against Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. WWE was hoping it would happen this week but it didn’t work out that way. There’s also a chance that the Orton/Lesnar rematch for September 24 in Chicago will not happen as planned, depending on if Orton can get cleared or not.
