UPDATE: As we reported first yesterday, Jerry Lawler has been removed from WWE’s pre-shows and will now be used solely for special events such as the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. WWE Hall of Famer Lita has also been pulled from the pre-shows as she is no longer under a full-time deal.
Both stars are under Legends contracts and will be brought in for special appearances only.
ORIGINAL: After receiving anonymous emails claiming that Jerry Lawler had been released by WWE, we reached out to WWE for clarification on Jerry Lawler’s Status. Here is WWE’s response…
“Jerry Lawler has a Legends agreement with WWE, however, he will no longer regularly appear on our pre-shows. He will continue to host special events, including WWE’s annual Hall of Fame celebration at WrestleMania.”
