On the first episode of Edge and Christian’s podcast, “E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness”, Goldberg referred to the WWE Universal Championship as a “belt” before correcting himself and calling it a “championship.” He then said that “belt” is on a list of “forbidden” words in WWE that announcers and wrestlers shouldn’t use on TV.
There’s an unsourced/unconfirmed pic of this list from 2008 that has been going around on the internet, which you can check out below. This one is almost 9 years old and has obviously changed since then, but is still pretty interesting to look at.
It’s more of a pretty reasonable set of guidelines of words to avoid.
