Seth Rollins on the Universal Title, The Rock, Greatest WWE Rival

Delaware radio station 105.9’s Rob Petree on Eagle 977 had a recent interview with Seth Rollins discussing Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship, wanting to face Rock at Wrestlemania, and his greatest rival in the WWE.

On the topic of Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship, Rollins stated one of his current goals is to get a title shot against Brock Lesnar within the near future.

“If it were up to me, it would be tomorrow, ya know? But you got to wait for those title shots. Our champion currently is Brock Lesnar on Raw – our Universal Champion – and he is a force to be reckoned win. He is also somebody who chooses to defend his title and fight on his own time. So you really gotta be kind of lucky to land those title shots.”

When asked a question related to previous comments he made about The Rock, Rollins mentioned he still would like to face the Rock at Wrestlemania 34 if the opportunity were to happen. He did state Rock being very busy with films and other projects would make it a very tough task to get done though. As a jokingly jab, Rollins also stated he’d have no problem beating the Rock in the ring due to the Rock being an “old man” and him being in the prime of his career.

“Obviously Rocky [The Rock], he’s a little busy these days, he’s doing some Hollywood things, doing some movies, making TV shows, all sorts of good stuff. If the opportunity came about, I would have no problem taking on The Rock at WrestleMania, sounds like a good time to me.”

Near the end of the interview, Rollins revealed he considers Dean Ambrose as his greatest rival in the WWE. He mentioned some of his favorite and biggest matches of his WWE career involved going against Ambrose.

“Ironically enough, my biggest rival is also somebody that I found myself recently aligned with and that was Dean Ambrose. Ya know, Dean Ambrose is somebody that I broke in with – The Shield – and we had a falling out and things didn’t go very well for us for awhile. But recently, we’ve kind of gotten back on the same page – to a certain extent – but we’ve had some big fights over the years.”
