Nia Jax on “Bodyshaming” Angle
Nia Jax was interviewed by Mirror and was asked about her current feud with Alexa Bliss, where Bliss “bodyshames” Nia.
Mirror: The storyline for this match with Alexa Bliss has been framed around her insulting and bodyshaming you. How do you feel about being involved in this kind of plot and do you think it’s important WWE tackle real life issues like this?
Nia: I think it’s amazing. I think it’s something that people know but they don’t want to talk about it, they always want to keep it hidden. I feel like we’re tackling it head-on and it should be [tackled]. Young women and young girls, and boys, should actually be hearing this and seeing the conflict that we go through and seeing somebody stand up for themselves and not have to allow somebody to bully them, because of the way they look, what their shape is, or the colour of their skin is. You should always stand up for yourself. So I think it’s amazing. I’m very honoured to be a part of it.
PWG Leaving Reseda, CA
As mentioned, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla is leaving their long time home of the American Legion Hall in Reseda, Los Angeles. The reason, according to Dave Meltzer, is that the building is being sold and they will no longer be able to hold events there after that.
The final shows will take place on April 20, April 21 and May 25.
PWG is expected to hold many, but not all of their shows at the Globe Theater in Los Angeles going forward. Their most recent show was at the Globe on March 23. The American Legion Hall seats about 400 people, while the Globe Theater seats about 700.
PWG management had resisted expanding to a larger setting, liking the excellent intimate feel of the American Legion Hall, but they will now be forced to move.
The Globe Theater looks really cool though…
