Brock Lesnar’s next title defense for his RAW Universal Championship is reported to be occurring at SummerSlam on August 19th, according to the Wrestling Observer.
The Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Newsletter that the WWE currently has tentative plans for the main event of this year’s SummerSlam to be a Universal Championship match involving Brock Lesnar. Meltzer also reported Lesnar’s future in the WWE will likely be decided by the end of June due to Lesnar needing to make an official decision regarding his MMA career soon. If Lesnar decides to rejoin USADA’s drug testing pool, he will be able to compete in UFC’s last event of the year on December 29th. If Lesnar decides to not rejoin USADA’s drug pool, he will be staying in the WWE for the foreseeable future.
Meltzer also reported due to both UFC and WWE’s sudden influx of cash from their new television contracts, Lesnar will benefit greatly from the expected bidding war for his services between both companies.
