WWE is interested in lucha superstars Pentagon Jr and Fenix and WWE has made “overtures” to them, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. However, they reportedly still have three seasons left on their contracts with Lucha Underground, but Lucha Underground said before the start of this past season that wrestlers who request their releases would have them granted once they’re able to be written out of storylines.
The brothers currently also wrestle for Impact, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Major League Wrestling, AAA and various other indie feds, where they’re seen as two of the top guys on the indie scene.
Pentagon Jr was the Impact World Champion earlier this year and they’re the current MLW Tag Team Champions.
WWE would presumably throw them on 205 Live with the other excellent lucha wrestlers they’ve signed who are now wrestling meaningless WWE-style matches every few months to barely any reaction.
