EVOLVE 113

September 8, 2018
Queens, NY – La Boom

Six Way Match: Anthony Henry defeated Facade, Harlem Bravado, Jason Kincaid, Jon Davis, Josh Briggs via top rope stomp on Facade. Excellent match with nonstop action that had the crowd hot.

JD Drake defeated Joey Janela via moonsault in a non-title match. Penelope Ford distracted Drake and Janela tried to attack him, but Drake moved and Janela knocked Ford off the apron, allowing Drake to hit him with a Drill Bit and moonsault for the win. Really good match.

Chris Dickinson defeated Stokely Hathaway via crucifix powerbomb immediately. Hathaway came out and said he didn’t work for the company anymore, but wanted an opportunity to do anything. Dickinson and Jaka came out and Dickinson said that he’ll give him an opportunity to be a wrestler, before beating him down.

EVOLVE Tag Team Championship: Chris Dickinson & Jaka (c) defeated The Skulk (Adrian Alanis & Leon Ruff) via crucifix powerbomb by Dickinson and splash by Jaka on Ruff.

Austin Theory defeated AR Fox via Ataxia. This was the second best match of the night after the opener, imo. Really great. Austin Theory is so good. After the match, Theory got on the mic and said that he doesn’t care if people boo him because he’s on top of the world and they’re looking at the future WWE Champion. Priscilla Kelly was by his side, and he told her to get out of his spotlight and step back in her rightful place and hold his title. Huge heat from the crowd. Kelly looked pissed, then Darby Allin ran out and attacked Theory, who rolled out and went to the back. Allin and Priscilla Kelly (who are engaged in real life) then had a moment in the ring before Kelly decided to leave and follow Austin Theory to the back.

EVOLVE Championship: Shane Strickland (c) defeated Tracy Williams via armbar submission after stomping on Williams’ arm. This match started off really slowly and seemed to finally bring the hot crowd down, but it picked up and won them back in the end.

Dark Match: Velveteen Dream defeated Darby Allin via Purple Rainmaker. Austin Theory came out towards the end of the match to distract Allin. Allin got Dream in the Last Supper and had him pinned, but Theory distracted the referee. Dream was finally able to hit the Dream Valley Driver and Purple Rainmaker for the win. Dream looked like an absolute star. Amazing charisma, and the crowd loved him. Great heel crowd work, with him getting the whole crowd to beg him to throw them his shirt, but then refusing to do so. The story of the match was that Dream taunted Allin early on and didn’t take him seriously at first, calling him small and saying that he works for EVOLVE, while Dream “works for Vince McMahon.” A great, fun match and show overall. Dream’s entrance is below.
