Marty Scurll Responds to Reports of Heat for Going Over Time in His All In Match

As mentioned, All In went off the air with just seconds left in their PPV window and the main event had to be cut short by 16 minutes because other matches had gone long.

It was reported that the Marty Scurll vs. Kazuchika Okada match went 12 minutes long and the production team backstage was “losing their mind trying to get their attention to get them to go home,” according to PWInsider. PWInsider also said that Scurll took the brunt of the heat for the match going long and decided not to come out after the show for the in-ring group celebration.

Marty Scurll was interviewed by Sean Mooney on Prime Time with Sean Mooney and rebutted those reports, saying that though their match did go a little long, it wasn’t as long as reported and Nick Jackson told them to not cut anything. As far as the in-ring celebration after the show, he said that he was in the shower and “didn’t know what was going on.”

We went a bit over, but people are saying like 14 minutes over. No, no, no, no. The show ran 14 minutes over. A bunch of the other matches went over. But I guess our match is crucified because obviously we were the match on just before last.

Just before I went out, Nick Jackson said to me and Okada, ‘Guys, whatever you do, don’t cut anything. Just do whatever you do, even if we go on dark tonight, it’s fine. Just do what you gotta do.’

We went 26 minutes. So you’re suggesting that they booked a semi-main, with like months and months of build to have a 12 minute match? It’s funny these ideas people get in their heads and stuff you read in the dirt sheets. A lot of those guys that do that stuff, I respect and it’s great people can make a business with that, but sometimes I just read stuff and I go ‘wow, this is just a big lie, a made up thing.’

And I think Nick [Jackson] might have joked about it, like, ‘oh, Marty went 14 minutes over,’ but as like, a joke. We did go a bit over, but like I said, the whole show was running over.

In terms of the curtain call, I didn’t know what was going on. I was in the semi-main match, so I finished my match, I’ve cooled down, whatever. I was in the shower. I didn’t have a clue.
