UFC’s Parent Company Reportedly Pulling Out of $400 Million Deal With Saudi Govt + WWE Update

William Morris Endeavor, which owns the UFC, is reportedly drawing up paperwork to terminate a $400 million deal that was in place for the Saudi government to buy a 5-10% stake in the company, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting.

The company has been under pressure to terminate their relationship with the brutal Saudi regime after their apparent murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The company also is an agency for several journalists like Ronan Farrow, Soledad O’Brien and Joe Scarborough, who had reportedly been putting pressure on Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel. Emanuel said earlier today that he was “monitoring” the situation and added that he was “personally … really concerned.”

WWE, meanwhile, seems like they will be going forward with Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. According to Dave Meltzer, they are “determined” to go through with the show out of fear of losing their huge-money 10 year deal with the Saudis.

Meltzer also added that the show will very likely go on as scheduled unless Donald Trump or the US state department asks WWE not to go through with it, and that doesn’t appear like it will happen.
