WWE Still Currently Moving “Full Steam Ahead” With Saudi Arabia Show

WWE said yesterday that they are “currently monitoring the situation” regarding Saudi Arabia’s apparent murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, while US senators urged WWE to rethink its relationship with Saudi Arabia. WWE also had backup plans in place if the show didn’t go ahead, Dave Meltzer reported.

However, it appears that WWE is still currently moving “full steam ahead” with the show, according to a report by PWInsider. The report says that as of today, the plan is still for the show to move forward and WWE is currently working on different production and logistics aspects for the event, as well as talent itineraries.

Things could still change, of course, depending on the pressure that WWE faces and the US government’s response. Donald Trump has so far defended the US’s sale of hundreds of billions of dollars in weapons to the Saudi regime but said today that there would be “severe punishment” if Saudi Arabia was found to be responsible for Khashoggi’s death.
