WWE Buys Tape Library
WWE has purchased the tape library of Puerto Rican promotion the World Wrestling Council, according to PWInsider.
The promotion was started in 1973 by Gorilla Monsoon, Carlos Colón Sr. and Victor Jovica and still runs shows in Puerto Rico to this day.
The promotion was part of the NWA until the late 80s and several big stars wrestled for it, including Ric Flair, Randy Savage, the Road Warriors, Rick Martel, and more. It was known for having a lot of very bloody matches.
No word yet on when it will be added to the WWE Network.
WWE Tryouts in Germany
WWE is having tryouts in Cologne, Germany this week. WWE.com posted details and a list of some of the German wrestlers who are part of the tryout.
WWE has been rumored to be considering a German NXT brand, similar to NXT UK, which would have a possible relationship with German promotion wXw.
