Road Dogg Update
Brian “Road Dogg” James will be taking an extended break from WWE after stepping down as SmackDown head writer last week, according to PWInsider.
He is still employed by WWE and when he returns, everyone involved will assess the situation and see where he may fit into the company going forward, PWInsider says. There’s currently no timetable for his return.
It was previously reported that James stepped down because he had been growing increasingly frustrated with changes that were made to SmackDown scripts and storylines by Vince McMahon, and was tired of working long hours only to have his work undone.
The Shield’s Final Opponents
WWE will air a live special advertised as The Shield’s final match called “The Shield’s Final Chapter” on the WWE Network on Sunday at 9:30 PM ET.
It’ll apparently be part of a WWE house show that will take place this Sunday at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Illinois.
On the venue’s website, these matches are being advertised:
– The Shield vs. Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley
– Finn Balor vs. Elias for the Intercontinental Championship
