Viceland Currently Producing Owen Hart Episode for Dark Side of the Ring Series

An episode based on Owen Hart reportedly is currently in production for the second season of Viceland’s Dark Side of the Ring documentary series.

The Owen Hart Foundation recently posted on Facebook that Martha Hart and other members of the Foundation were recently involved in the filming of a new episode for Viceland’s Dark Side of the Ring series.


Rocky Johnson Passing Update

Wrestling legend Rocky Johnson passed away this past Wednesday at the age of 75. Johnson was the father of former WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Brian Blair, former member of the Killer Bees tag team and longtime friend of Johnson, stated in a recent interview with the Tampa Bay Times that Johnson’s passing was due to natural causes related to a blood clot issue that became fatal.

“A blood clot traveled from his leg into his lung He died of natural causes.”


Tony Khan AEW Backstage Update

Dave Meltzer reported in this past week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Tony Khan has recently taken over more control of AEW’s creative booking due to the negative backlash following the December 18th episode of AEW Dynamite in Corpus Christi. This episode featured the show closing segment involving the Dark Order.

Meltzer reported that Khan has been mostly helping out improve the long-term planning and development of AEW storylines.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

WrestleCon announced that Amazing Red will be making an appearance for the company at their WrestleCon SuperShow on April 2nd in Ybor City, Florida.

Major League Wrestling announced that Konnan will be making an appearance at their Fightland 2020 event on February 1st in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Stardom announced that they will be holding two events on May 6th in Tokyo, Japan with the afternoon show to be a women-only show and the night show to be a men-only show for fans. Dave Meltzer reported in this past week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this upcoming show is part of Bushiroad and Stardom’s current plans to attract more women fans for their events.

Ring of Honor announced that Taiji Ishimori will be making an appearance for the company at their Supercard of Honor XIV event on April 4th in Lakeland, Florida. Ishimori is the fifth talent from New Japan Pro Wrestling announced for this event.

ROH also recently announced a new match for the card of their Free Enterprise event on February 9th in Baltimore, Maryland:
