Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, & Manabu Nakanishi vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, Toa Henare, Tomoaki Honma, & Togi Makabe

The match begins with Tenzan tagging Nakanishi into the match, Nakanishi backs Taguchi into the corner while landing some chops. Taguchi goes for a hip attack and Nakanishi blocks it, Tenzan tags in and he double teams Taguchi with Nakanishi. Tenzan and Nakanishi nail Taguchi with a double shoulder tackle, Henare tags in and Nagata does as well and a striking exchange breaks out. Henare ends the exchange by nailing Nagata with a leaping shoulder tackle, Nagata looks for a cross face on Henare and Homna breaks it up. Nagata then gets quadruple teamed by the opposition, Homna tags in and he attacks a cornered Nagata with some chops. Homna nails Nagata with a back elbow strike for a near fall, Makabe tags in and he attacks Nagata with some strikes. Nagata recovers and he nails Makabe with an exploder suplex, Nakanishi tags in and he cleans house against the opposing team. Nakanishi attacks both members of Great Bash Heel with chops, Nakanishi then drops Makabe with an STO.

Nakanishi follows up by landing a double clothesline and Makabe and Homna for a near fall, Nakanishi gets Makabe in the Argentine Back Breaker and everybody else on his team goes for submissions as well. All the submission holds are eventually released as Makabe and Nakanishi drop each other with clotheslines, Kojima and Homna are tagged in by their respective partners. Kojima corners Homna while landing some machinegun chops, Homna fights back to land a slam and then a kokeshi for a near fall. Makabe attacks the interfering Kojima and Nagata with clotheslines, Nakanishi clears the ring before nailing Homna with a top rope karate chop. Kojima then hits Homna with a Kozy Lariat for a three count.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship
Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado vs. Roppongi 3K (c)

The match begins with Roppongi 3K jumping their opponents before the bell sounds and the brawl spills outside of the ring, Yoh corners Desperado in the ring while landing a bunch of strikes. Sho tags in and he double teams Desperado alongside Yoh. Kanemaru interferes and he eats a double drop kick, Sho gets Desperado to a knee before landing a mid-kick. Sho keeps Desperado downed while stomping on him and then choking him, Desperado fights back and Sho levels him with a forearm strike. Kanemaru interferes and he nails the injured knee of Sho with a drop kick, Kanemaru attacks Yoh as well and he nails him with a leg drop on the barricade. Desperado drags Sho up the aisle and he slams him on the arena floor before attacking him with chair shots to the injured knee, Sho gets back in the ring and Kanemaru nails him with another drop kick to the injured knee.

Kanemaru then applies a modified stretch muffler to the knee of Sho, Yoh breaks the submission up and he gets attacked by Desperado. Kanemaru traps the leg of Sho in the ropes before landing a seated senton on the knee, Desperado tags in and then hits the knee of Sho with a splash for a near fall. Desperado gets Sho in a single leg crab and Sho eventually gets to the ropes, Sho fights back and he nails a charging Desperado with a back body drop. Kanemaru interferes and Sho nails him with a suplex, Yoh tags in and he cleans house against the opposing team. Yoh knocks Kanemaru out of the ring before nailing Desperado with a flying forearm strike, Desperado and Yoh have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Desperado ends the exchange by nailing Yoh with a spear, Kanemaru tags in and he nails Yoh with a knee strike to the midsection. Kanemaru follows up by landing a tornado DDT for a near fall, Kanemaru goes to the middle rope and Yoh avoids him as he leaps off to land a DDT of his own.

Sho tags in and he nails a cornered Kanemaru with a clothesline, Kanemaru fights back and Sho nails him with a spear. Sho looks for a power bomb and his injured knee gives out on him, Desperado trips up Sho before helping Kanemaru drop kick the injured knee. Kanemaru gets Sho in a figure four leg lock, Yoh hits the ring and Desperado gets him in a submission hold. Sho eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission from Kanemaru, Kanemaru and Desperado then hit Sho with a Side Winder. Kanemaru follows up by hitting Sho with Deep Impact for a near fall, Kanemaru goes to the top rope and he lands on his feet during a moonsault attempt. Yoh hits the ring and he nails Kanemaru with a drop kick, Kanemaru fights back and Yoh nails him with a super kick. Desperado and Yoh then battle until both go down, Sho gets up and he nails Kanemaru with a mid-kick. Sho lands forearm strikes on Kanemaru before dropping him with a clothesline, Desperado interrupts a double team and Yoh nails him with a super kick. Roppongi 3K then double team Kanemaru before landing an elevated cutter, Desperado returns and he drop kicks Sho in the injured knee.

Desperado distracts the ref and Sho blocks the whiskey mist to hit Kanemaru with a release German suplex, Roppongi 3K then hit Desperado with a double super kick. Yoh then takes out Desperado with a suicide dive, Sho then hits Kanemaru with a lariat and Shock Arrow for a near fall. Yoh goes to the top rope and Kanemaru in hit with Strong X for a three count.

Winner: Roppongi 3K via Pinfall to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.

After the match, Ryusuke Taguchi hits the ring and he gives Rocky Romero a headband, Taguchi wants to challenge Roppongi 3K with Romero and Romero accepts. Yoh grabs te microphone and he accepts the challenge on behalf of Roppongi 3K.


Kota Ibushi, Hiroshi Tanahashi, David Finlay, & Juice Robinson vs. Chase Owens, Yujiro Takahashi, & Guerillas of Destiny

The match begins with Tonga backing Tanahashi into the ropes so Bullet Club can maul him, everybody from the opposition hits the ring and a huge brawl spills all over the arena. Tanahashi nails Tonga with a middle rope cross body block, Finlay tags in and he nails Tonga with a leaping European uppercut. Loa interferes and Finlay hits him with a drop kick, Owens interferes and he drops Finlay as another brawl breaks out between both teams. Tonga gets Finlay up and he attacks him with a few strikes, Loa tags in and he double teams Finlay with Tonga for a near fall. Takahashi tags in and he attacks Finlay with some strikes, Takahashi drops Finlay before landing a leg drop for a near fall. Owens tags in and he gets a downed Finlay in a front headlock, Owens also cranks on the neck of Finlay before getting a near fall on him. Finlay fights back and he drops Owens after landing a middle rope European uppercut, Tonga interferes and Finlay nails him with a back suplex.

Ibushi tags in and he cleans house against the opposing team, Ibushi clears the ring before landing a standing moonsault on Owens for a near fall. Owens fights back and he catches Ibushi in a roll up before a striking exchange breaks out, Owens ends the exchange by nailing Ibushi with a rebound lariat. Loa and Robinson are tagged in by their respective partners, Robinson nails Loa with some strikes followed by a full nelson bomb. Robinson then hits Loa with a corner clothesline and a cannonball, Robinson goes for Pulp Friction and Tonga breaks it up. Loa then hits Robinson with a release German suplex, Tonga and Loa double team Robinson until Finlay hits the ring to even the odds. Tanahashi tags in and he drops Loa with a flying forearm strike, Tanahashi backs Loa into the corner before missing an avalanche attempt. Bullet Club takes advantage and theu quadruple team Tanahashi, Loa sets up for a power bomb and Ibushi breaks it up.

Everybody from both teams hit the ring and they all take each other out, Tonga and Loa go for Magic Killer and Ibushi breaks it up. Jado interferes and he hits Ibushi with a kendo stick, Tanahashi fights both Loa and Tonga by himself. Tanahashi hits Loa with a dragon screw leg whip before hitting Loa with a sling blade, Jado interferes and he hits Tanahashi with a kendo stick. Loa goes for Ape Shit and Tanahashi counters with a roll up for a three count.

Winner: Kota Ibushi, Hiroshi Tanahashi, David Finlay, & Juice Robinson via Pinfall.


G1 Climax 2020 and MSG Event Announcement Video

NJPW aired an announcement video following the previous match revealing several dates and two of the locations for this year’s G1 Climax tournament.

This year’s tournament will take place from September 19th and ends on October 18th. The first two shows will take place in Osaka while the group block finals and G1 Climax finals will take place in Tokyo.

It was also announced that NJPW will be making their return to Madison Square Garden on August 22nd for an event called Wrestling Dynasty.


Will Ospreay & Kazuchika Okada vs. Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi

The match begins with Taichi nailing a mocking Okada with a jumping head kick, Sabre Jr attacks Ospreay and they battle near the crowd. Taichi gets Okada out of the ring before throwing him into the barricade, Taichi grabs a steel chair and he attacks Okada with it. Taichi grabs a camera cable wire and he chokes Okada with it, Taichi gets Okada back in the ring and he gets a near fall on a pin attempt. Sabre Jr tags in and he chokes Okada in the corner, Sabre Jr nails Okada with a few strikes before tagging Taichi back in. Taichi gets Okada down while applying the cravat to him, Taichi releases the hold so he can attack Okada with more kicks. Sabre Jr tags in and he attacks Ospreay before getting Okada in an abdominal stretch, Okada gets free and he nails a charging Sabre Jr with a flapjack. Ospreay tags in and he starts cleaning house against the opposing team, Sabre Jr avoids a drop kick from Ospreay and he gets him in a submission hold for a short time.

Sabre Jr stands over Ospreay while attacking him with some kicks, Sabre Jr goes for a kimura and he winds up hitting the arm of Ospreay with an overhead kick. Ospreay looks for Storm Breaker and he exchanges roll ups for Sabre Jr instead for some near falls, Ospreay goes for a power bomb and Sabre Jr counters with a triangle choke. Ospreay gets free after hitting Sabre Jr with a sit out power bomb, Taichi and Okada are tagged in by their respective partners. Okada quickly drops Taichi with some running back elbow strikes, Taichi fights back and he nails Okada with a head kick in the corner. Taichi misses a head kick and Okada nails him with a drop kick, Okada follows up by hitting Taichi with a tombstone pile driver. Sabre Jr interferes and Ospreay makes the save for Okada, Taichi then nails a charging Okada with an axe bomber. Taichi follows that up by nailing Okada with a buzzsaw kick followed by a side suplex for a near fall, Taichi goes for a power bomb and Okada escapes to double team him with Ospreay.

Ospreay then takes out Sabre Jr with a suicide dive, Okada follows up by nailing Taichi with a Rainmaker for a three count.

Winner: Will Ospreay & Kazuchika Okada via Pinfall.


SANADA vs. Jay White

The match begins with Gedo distracting Sanada so White can attack him from behind, White gets Sanada in a headlock and Sanada gets free before sending White out of the ring. Sanada fakes a suicide dive before White gets back in the ring, Gedo trips up Sanada and White knocks him out of the ring. Gedo interferes and he chokes Sanada with a towel while White distracts the referee, Sanada gets back in the ring and White stomps away on him before applying a single leg crab. Sanada eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission attempt, Sanada fights back before missing a standing moonsault attempt. White dumps Sanada out of the ring and he follows him out there, White then sends Sanada into the barricade a few times. White gets Sanada back in the ring before applying a chin lock, Sanada gets free and he eventually nails White with a missile drop kick. Sanada follows that up by nailing White with a drop kick to the knee, Sanada looks for a Paradise Lock and White gets to the ropes.

White avoids a moonsault attempt from Sanada before planting him with a DDT, White follows up by hitting Sanada with a death valley driver for a near fall. White misses a charge in the corner and he sends Sanada to the ring apron afterwards, Gedo distracts Sanada and Sanada misses a springboard leap into the corner. White charges at Sanada and Sanada gets his foot up, White avoids a Paradise Lock and Sanada hits him with a hurricarana. Sanada finally gets White into the Paradise Lock, Sanada frees White by landing a basement drop kick for a near fall. Sanada follows that up by knocking White out of the ring with a drop kick, Sanada then takes out White with a dive to the arena floor. Sanada gets White in the ring before landing a springboard drop kick for a near fall, Sanada looks for a TKO and he goes for Skull End instead. White quickly escapes by raking the eyes of Sanada, White then drops Sanada after landing a few strikes.

Sanada fights back and he drops White with a European uppercut, White recovers and he drops Sanada. White goes for a Kiwi Crusher and he lands a Blade Buster instead followed by the Kiwi Crusher for a near fall, White looks for Blade Runner and Sanada gets to the ropes. Sanada fights back and he nails White with a rope assisted neck breaker, Sanada then hits White with a high angle back suplex for a near fall. Sanada looks for Skull End again and Gedo distracts him, White catches a distracted Sanada in a roll up for a near fall. Sanada recovers and he hits White with a TKO for a near fall, Sanada goes to the top rope and Gedo distracts him again, Sanada attacks Gedo and he places him on the top rope before low blowing him. Sanada then gets White in Skull End, Sanada releases the hold before missing the follow up moonsault attempt. White goes for Blade Runner and Sanada escapes to look for Skull End again, White and Sanada go back and forth until Sanada gets him in a roll up for a near fall.

Sanada again goes for Skull End and White escapes to land a sleeper suplex, White then hits Sanada with a Regalplex for a near fall. White follows up by nailing Sanada with a cross arm suplex, White nails Sanada with Blade Runner for a three count.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship
Ryu Lee vs. Hiromu Takahashi (c)

The match begins with Lee and Takahashi exchanging some release German suplexes, Takahashi ends that exchange by nailing Lee with a clothesline. Takahashi and Lee then get into a wild striking exchange, Lee and Takahashi then exchange strikes in the corner before Lee goes back to landing more chops. Takahashi and Lee get into another chopping exchange in the middle of the ring, Lee ends the exchange by dropping Takahashi. Lee keeps Takahashi cornered while landing a drop kick, Lee then hits Takahashi with a double underhook slam before landing a drop kick that knocks him out of the ring. Takahashi goes to the ring apron and Lee nails him with a hurricarana that knocks him to the arena floor, Lee seats Takahashi on the barricade while landing more chops. Lee then hits Takahashi with a suicide dives that sends them both crashing to the arena floor, Lee eventually gets Takahashi back in the ring.

Lee goes for a springboard move and Takahashi nails him with a super kick, Takahashi follows up by nailing Lee with a sunset bomb to the arena floor. Takahashi gets Lee back in the ring and he lands a Dynamite Plunger afterwards for a near fall, Takahashi follows up by nailing Lee with a death valley driver into the corner. Takahashi and Lee go back and forth until Takahashi gets him in a triangle choke, Lee gets to the ropes to break the submission attempt. Takahashi resumes his attack on Lee before getting him on the top rope, Takahashi follows Lee up there and Lee misses a double stomp attempt. Lee returns to the top rope and he has a striking exchange with Takahashi, Lee hangs Takahashi up in the ropes before landing a double stomp that sends both of them to the arena floor. Lee gets Takahashi to the ring apron and Takahashi eventually propels him to the arena floor, Takahashi goes to the top rope and he nails Lee with a Hiromu Bomb.

Takahashi and Lee get back in the ring to beat the ref’s count, Takahashi then hits Lee with a wheelbarrow German suplex. Lee fights back and he exchanges more German suplexes with Takahashi, Takahashi eats a knee strike before hitting Lee with a super kick. Takahashi looks for a triangle choke on Lee before they both eventually propel themselves into the corner, Lee then hits Takahashi with a package tombstone pile driver for a near fall. Lee places Takahashi on the top rope before climbing the ropes to land a double stomp, Lee follows up by nailing Takahashi with a knee strike for a near fall. Lee goes for a power bomb and Takahashi counters with a destroyer for a near fall, Takahashi follows that up by propelling Lee into the corner. Takahashi looks for the Time Bomb and Lee rolls him up for a near fall, Lee then nails Takahashi with a knee strike for another near fall. Lee then hits Takahashi with a rip cord knee strike, Takahashi recovers by hitting Lee with a destroyer followed by a Time Bomb for a near fall. Takahashi then nails Lee with a lariat and a second Time Bomb for a three count.

Winner: Hiromu Takahashi via Pinfall to retain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.


IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship
Minoru Suzuki vs. Jon Moxley (c)

The match begins with Moxley going up the entrance ramp while Suzuki grabs some chairs, Suzuki gives Moxley a chair and they swing then at each other. Moxlye gains control and he drops Suzuki after landing a few strikes, Moxley grabs a piece of the barricade and he attacks Suzuki with it. Suzuki fights back and they battle into the crowd, Suzuki grabs a piece of the barricade and he hits Moxley with it. Suzuki and Moxley battle to the announcers section, Moxley leaps off of a table to hit Suzuki with an axe handle smash. Suzuki and Moxley get in the ring before a striking exchange breaks out, Suzuki ends the exchange by nailing Moxley with a boot to the face. Moxley blocks a penalty kick before biting his forehead, Suzuki nails Moxley with more strikes before biting his forehead. Moxley and Suzuki take their battle back out of the ring and in the aisle, Suzuki catches Moxley in an arm bar for a short time.

Moxley gets free and he gets Suzuki in a single leg crab, Moxley releases the hold before throwing Suzuki into the barricade. Suzuki fights back as their brawl goes to the ringside area, Suzuki recovers and he throws Moxley into the barricade. Moxley fights back by dropping Suzuki and landing a sliding lariat, Moxley finds a table and he sets it up on the arena floor. Suzuki grabs a steel chair and he attacks Moxley with it before applying a guillotine choke, Suzuki grabs another chair and he smashes Moxley’s arm with it. Suzuki also tries breaking Moxley’s arm before smashing it into the ring post, Suzuki follows that up by getting Moxley in a triangle choke. Moxley gets free by power bombing Suzuki through the table, Suzuki grabs a piece of the broken table and he attacks himself with it. Moxley does the same to himself as they get back in the ring, Suzuki and Moxley have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring.

Suzuki ends the exchange by getting Moxley in a sleeper hold, Suzuki releases the choke to get a near fall on Moxley. Suzuki follows up by nailing Moxley with a running boot to the face for a near fall, Suzuki stands Moxley up to attack him with more strikes. Moxley fights back and he anils Suzuki with some knee strikes for a near fall, Suzuki then hits a charging Moxley with a drop kick. Moxley then hits Suzuki with a Death Rider for another near fall, Moxley leaves the ring to get more chairs and bring them back in the ring. Suzuki shoves the referee down and Moxley attacks Suzuki with a chair shot, Moxley eventually nails Suzuki with a double arm DDT on a steel chair. Suzuki gets up and he attacks Moxley with multiple combinations, Moxley fights back and he nails Suzuki with a lariat followed by a Death Rider for a three count.

Winner: Jon Moxley to via Pinfall to retain the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Double Championship
KENTA vs. Tetsuya Naito (c)

The match begins with Tama Tonga shoving the referee down as he tried sending Bullet Club backstage, the ref again tells members of Bullet Club to leave and they eventually do. Kenta quickly exits the ring instead of locking up with Naito, Kenta gets in the ring and Naito backs him into the ropes. Kenta leaves the ring again and Naito does the same a short time later, Naito gets in the ring and a striking exchange breaks out. Naito knocks Kenta out of the ring with a hurricarana, Naito leaves the ring and they brawl into the crowd. Naito gets Kenta back in the ring before applying a rope assisted camel clutch, Naito starts attacking the back fo Kenta’s neck before applying a cravat. Kenta backs Naito in the ropes before landing a multitude of strikes, Naito fights back and he attacks Kenta with elbow strikes. Kenta gets Naito to the ring apron before trapping him in the ropes, Kenta nails Naito with some kicks and a middle rope knee drop.

Kenta knocks Naito out of the ring after landing a boot to the face, Kenta follows him out there before throwing Naito into the barricade a few times. Kenta waits for Naito to get in the ring to dump him back out of it, Kenta leaves the ring again and he throws Naito into the barricade again. Kenta drags Naito up the aisle before lansing a DDT on the arena floor, Kenta removes a turnbuckle pad and he dumps it out of the ring. Naito gets in the ring and Kenta throws him into the exposed corner, Kenta follows up by nailing Naito with a knee strike and a kick to the back. Kenta then nails a downed Naito with a series of knee drops, Kenta holds Naito down while applying a chin lock. Naito gets free and Kenta drops him with a knee strike for a near fall, Kenta gets up and he stomps away on a downed Naito. Kenta then hits a swinging Naito with a DDT for a near fall, Kenta stands over Naito while attacking him with kicks. Naito fights back and he nails a charging Kenta with a drop kick, Naito drops Kenta a short time later to land a series of drop kicks.

Naito then hits Kenta with a neck breaker for a near fall, Naito drops Kenta with a modified neck breaker before applying a leg assisted full nelson. Kenta gets to the ropes to break the submission attempt from Naito, Kenta fights back and he nails Naito with a tornado DDT onto the top rope. Kenta then hits Naito with a top rope clothesline for a near fall, Kenta keeps Naito down while looking for Game Over and Naito gets to the ropes. Naito gets to the ring apron and he drags Kenta out there before landing a neck breaker, Kenta fights back and he nails Naito with a barricade assisted DDT on the arena floor. Kenta gets Naito in the ring before attacking him with a series of drop kicks, Kenta misses a top rope double stomp and Naito nails him with a spine buster. Kenta and Naito exchange strikes in the middle of the ring, Kenta ends the exchange by using a ref distraction to get Naito in Game Over. Naito gets to the ropes to break the submission and Kenta nails him with a knee strike, Kenta then hits Naito with a release German suplex and psycho knee strike for a near fall.

Kenta looks for Go To Sleep and Naito counters with rolling thunder followed by a tornado DDT, Naito then hits Kenta with a modified neck breaker and top rope hurricarana. Naito follows up by nailing Kenta with Gloria for a near fall, Kenta fights back and he knocks Naito into the referee. Jay White hits the ring and he attacks Naito, Bushi hits the ring and White immediately nails him with Blade Runner. Hiromu Takahashi hits the ring and he takes care of White, Naito gets up and he nails Kenta with an enziguri followed by a flying forearm strike. Naito goes for Destino and Kenta counters with a lariat for a near fall, Kenta looks for Go To Sleep and Naito counters with a reverse DDT. Kenta escapes the grasp of Naito to throw him into the exposed corner and roll him up for a near fall, Kenta then drops Naito after landing a plethora of rights. Kenta follows up by nailing Naito with a Psycho Knee for a near fall, Naito recovers and he hits Kenta with a poison hurricarana followed by an elevated reverse DDT. Naito follows up by nailing Kenta with Destino for a three count.
