WWE announced that they have signed indie wrestler Aja Perera, but will be using her as a referee.

WWE touted her as the “first African-American full-time female referee signed to WWE.”

Jake Atlas, whose WWE signing was announced last month, made his WWE debut at an NXT house show in Citrus Springs, FL last Friday in a losing effort to Ridge Holland.
