As noted before, The Revival’s Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder were granted their releases by WWE last month following issues between the two sides since January of 2019. Following their releases, WWE disputed trademarks filed by The Revival, now known as The Revolt, earlier this year.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported (via Fightful Select) that prior to their releases, WWE had planned on extending Dawson’s contract from April to possibly the end of this summer while Wilder’s contract would end in June. Those plans reportedly were dropped following talks between the two sides, which took place over the course of several weeks.
Sapp also reported that WWE eventually was willing to grant The Revival their releases in April but in return, the Revival were required to hand over some of their trademarks to the company, including “No Flips, Just Fists”, “#FTRKO”, and “Say Yeah.”
