WWE & MLW Releases Video Tributes to Brodie Lee

WWE and Major League Wrestling recently released video tributes to the late Jon Huber, known as Luke Harper in WWE and Brodie Lee elsewhere.

Online wrestling merchandise retailer Pro Wrestling Tees announced on Twitter that sales of the Brodie Lee memorial shirt managed to set a new all-time company record for most shirt sales in a 24 hour period, only needing around two hours to do so. It was also announced that Lee’s memorial shirt also managed to become their highest selling shirt of 2020.

AEW CEO Tony Khan announced on Twitter that he purchased the rights to the song “Ol’ 55” by Tom Waits in perpetuity so that the show closing tribute to Lee will never need to be altered in the future over music rights issues.

In honor of the late Lee, AEW announced on Twitter that his son Brodie Lee Jr., also known as “-1”, has been named as the winner of this week’s AEW Wrestler of the Week award.

Kenny Omega Files New Trademark, Brodie Lee Trademark Update

Kenny Omega filed several trademarks for “Kenny Omega” and “The Cleaner” for wrestling and merchandise-related purposes on December 27th to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert reported that prior to his passing Brodie Lee managed to secure the trademark rights to his ring name on December 22nd. Lee had filed two trademarks for “Brodie Lee” with one for merchandise purposes and the other for wrestling purposes.


AEW Dynamite & WWE NXT Ratings Delayed Until Next Week

The viewership and ratings numbers for Wednesday’s episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT reportedly will be delayed until Monday, January 4th due to the New Year’s holiday, according to Showbuzz Daily.
