NJPW’s KENTA appeared at the end of tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, attacking IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley.
After the six man man event, which saw Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers defeat Jon Moxley, Pac & Fenix via a Magic Killer by the Good Brothers on Fenix, the ring was cleared and Moxley stalked Omega alone in the ring…
…until a masked man entered and attacked Moxley from behind, then unmasked himself as KENTA. KENTA then nailed Moxley with his finisher, the Go to Sleep, as Kenny Omega smiled and Dynamite went off the air.
Moxley will defend his IWGP United States Championship against KENTA on NJPW New Beginning USA on Friday, February 26.
Moxley showed up on an episode of NJPW Strong on Friday, attacking KENTA and hitting him with the Death Rider / Paradigm Shift.
KENTA’s appearance on Dynamite is extra noteworthy because it appears to possibly open the door for a potential partnership between AEW and NJPW, which has been essentially closed since the start of AEW. The pandemic likely prevents a full blown partnership for now because of travel restrictions to and from Japan, but it looks like there may be some interesting times ahead.
