More on WWE NXT Viewership for June 8

The June 8th episode of WWE NXT saw NXT gain a slight increase in both overall viewership and key demographic ratings.

NXT drew 669,000 viewers and a 0.20 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic ranking for that week’s show reportedly was 14th place.

This week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided more details for that week’s NXT show.

Dave Meltzer reported that when factoring in same day DVR viewership up until 3AM EST, the split for that week’s episode was 582,000 live viewers and 87,000 DVR viewers.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 250,000 viewers. NXTs biggest increase was with their Females 18-34 group at 81% higher than the prior week’s show. NXT’s biggest decrease was with their Males 18-34 group at 51.9% lower than the prior week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was down 0.6% in overall viewership but up 25% in key demographic viewership.

WWE NXT started off with around 681,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Million Dollar Championship reveal promo segment with Ted DiBiase, Cameron Grimes, & LA Night and the start of the Grizzled Young Veterans vs. August Grey & Ikkeman Jiro match which gained 32,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the LA Knight vignette, the Dok Hendrix ad segment, and the Legado del Fantasma, Bronson Reed, MSK, & Hit Row promo segment which lost 38,000 viewers. NXT’s overrun gained an additional 53,000 viewers to end the night.


More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for June 11

The June 11th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership. That week’s show was notable for being the third week in a row that Dynamite aired on a Friday due to TNT’s current NBA Playoffs commitments.

AEW drew 487,000 viewers and a 0.19 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that week’s show reportedly was 16th place.

This week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided more details for that week’s AEW show.

Dave Meltzer reported that AEW’s show that week drew very well with their older male viewership but struggled in every other key demographic row. In regards to head-to-head competition, the NBA Playoffs Game 3 of Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets drew 3,961,000 viewers on ESPN. Meltzer reported that when factoring in DVR viewership up to 3AM EST, the split was 409,000 live viewers and 78,000 DVR viewers.

Meltzer reported that around 14.61% of those who watched at least one second of WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown show that night also watched AEW’s show. An additional 4.27% of SmackDown viewers also reportedly watched the show on DVR the following day. Based on the past three weeks, Meltzer reported that more SmackDown viewers who also watch AEW prefer to watch AEW’s show on DVR instead of live while over half of AEW viewers who also watch SmackDown prefer to watch SmackDown live.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 244,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest increase was with their Males 35-49 group at 28.9% higher than the prior week’s show. AEWs biggest decrease was with their Females 18-34 group at 40% lower than the prior week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 28.1% in overall viewership and down 17.6% in key demographic viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 567,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler vs. PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, & Eddie Kingston match which gained 17,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Pinnacle promo & Inner Circle backstage Pinnacle limo destruction segment and the Sting & Darby Allin promo segment which lost 69,000 viewers.
