WWE: Jimmy Uso Dealing with Backstage Heat, Karrion Kross Update, Updated SD Ratings

Backstage Update on Jimmy Uso’s Recent DUI Arrest

As noted before, Jimmy Uso was arrested for a DUI this past Monday in Pensacola, Florida. This was the third time since 2019 that Uso has been arrested for legal issues in the state and the second time involving a DUI incident.

WrestleVotes reported that two sources spoken to within the company stated that Uso is currently dealing with serious backstage heat from several high-level WWE officials who are “extremely disappointed & legitimately pissed off” over his recent arrest. These same officials reportedly also believe that the amount of times Uso has been arrested over the past couple years shows a lack of personal judgement on his part.

Fightful Select reported that besides the current backstage heat, there has been a growing concern “across the board” for him with several talent spoken to hoping that WWE steps in and gets him help before someone gets hurt.

Karrion Kross Main Roster Tryouts Update

As noted before, WWE officials have invited current NXT Champion Karrion Kross for dark match tryouts at their ThunderDome prior to the tapings of RAW and SmackDown these past few weeks.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Kross was invited again for another tryout match at WWE’s ThunderDome this past Monday. Johnson reported that Kross faced off against Drew Gulak during the tapings of this week’s episode of Main Event, which was taped on Monday prior to RAW.

Updated WWE Friday Night SmackDown Ratings

This past Friday’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown drew a final viewership of 1,861,000 on FOX, according to Wrestlenomics. This was up compared to the initial overnight number of 1,741,000 viewers on the network.
