More on WWE NXT Viewership for September 21st

The September 21st episode of WWE NXT saw NXT suffer a slight decrease in both overall viewership and key demographic ratings.

NXT drew 746,000 viewers and a 0.20 key demographic rating on USA Network. NXT’s key demographic ranking for that night was 11th place.

Detailed demographic and quarter-hours breakdowns were not available in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for NXT’s decline this week was due to its lower than usual key demographic male viewership. This reportedly was enough to offset the gains that were made with NXT’s female key demographic and Teenagers viewership groups compared to last week’s show. In regards to the gender split, Meltzer reported that this week’s episode was 59.6% in male viewership which was much lower than their usual average.

In terms of key demographic viewership, NXT had 260,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest increase was with their Females 18-34 group at 48.1% higher than last week’s show. NXT’s biggest decrease was with their Males 18-34 group at 24.6% lower than last week’s show.

In terms of yearly comparisons, NXT was up 7.2% in overall viewership and up 13% in key demographic viewership.


More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for September 22nd

The September 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a large increase in both overall viewership and key demographic ratings. This week’s episode was notable for being the Dynamite Grand Slam special that was held at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

AEW drew 1,273,000 viewers and a 0.48 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for this week’s show was 1st place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s large increase this week was due to their higher than usual female key demographic viewership, which was 20.6% higher in Females 18-34 and 9.9% higher in Females 35-49. Meltzer reported that this week’s overall viewership was the third highest in Dynamite history and its overall 18-34 viewership was the highest since its October 2, 2019 debut episode.

In terms of head-to-head competition, The Challenge drew 611,000 viewers on MTV and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 1,178,000 viewers on Bravo.

In terms of the one million viewership milestone, all eight of AEW’s quarter-hours averaged over one million viewers. The highest being their second quarter at around 1,373,000 viewers and their lowest being their fourth quarter at around 1,190,000 viewers.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 627,000 viewers. All four of AEW’s key demographic viewership groups were up with the highest being their Females 18-34 group at 20.6% higher than last week.

In an interesting note, while AEW’s overall key demographic viewership streak over WWE’s RAW ended after two weeks in a row, this week’s episode still managed to top RAW in the overall Males 18-49 key demographic group, according to Post Wrestling.

In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 52.5% in overall viewership and up 52.9% in key demographic viewership.

AEW Dynamite started off with around 1,258,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the bulk of the Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson match which gained 115,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the bulk of the MJF vs. Brian Pillman Jr. match which lost 144,000 viewers.


More on AEW Rampage Viewership for September 17th

The September 17th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW suffer a small decrease in overall viewership.

AEW Rampage drew 642,000 viewers and a 0.28 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for this week’s show was 2nd place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW Rampage’s decline this week was due to its much lower than usual younger male viewership, which was down 37.1% in Males 18-34 and a tenth ranking in the Males 12-34 group. Meltzer reported that this was enough to offset the large gains AEW had this week with their female viewership for the show. Meltzer also reported another key reason for this week’s decline was due to the large drop off in overall viewership from the first to second quarter-hour of the show.

In terms of head-to-head competition, the College Football game of UCF vs. Louisville drew 1,881,000 viewers on ESPN.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 367,000 viewers and their biggest increase was with their Females 35-49 group at 39.6% higher than last week’s show. AEW’s sole decline was with their Males 18-34 group at 37.1% lower than last week’s show.

AEW Rampage started off with around 739,000 viewers and had around 620,000 viewers for its second quarter, around 646,000 viewers for its third quarter, and around 560,000 viewers for its main event quarter featuring the TNT Championship match of Fuego Del Sol vs. Miro (c).
