Drew McIntyre Injured

Drew McIntyre has a legitimate neck injury and may miss some ring time, according to PWInsider.

Following McIntyre’s match tonight at the Day 1 PPV when he defeated Madcap Moss, WWE did an angle where Moss and Happy Corbin attacked McIntyre backstage.

WWE’s social media later posted that McIntyre “suffered a cervical neck strain with severe contusions” as a result of the attack and “upon further evaluation by medical staff he will have a follow-up with an orthopedic cervical specialist.”

The angle was done to cover for legit neck issues that McIntyre has been dealing with for at least the last several weeks, PWInsider says. McIntyre will actually undergo medical testing to determine the extent of the issue.

As of now, WWE is hopeful that it’ll be a short-term issue, but one source told PWInsider that it’s “up in the air” until he’s checked out.

McIntyre also reportedly left the arena tonight wearing a neck brace, but it’s not clear if that was kayfabe.
