Tony Khan Gives an Update on His Upcoming “Massive” Announcement

Last week, Tony Khan said during an interview that he was working on something “massive” that would be “a big deal in pro wrestling.”

Tonight before Dynamite, AEW posted a brief interview with Khan on their social media where Khan again hyped up the announcement.

“I can’t [tell you about it] yet, but I will hopefully be able to soon,” he said. “We’re working on something massive. The legal team right now has got us under NDA’s so I can’t reveal all the details, but suffice to say, we’re working on something that’s gonna be really great for the fans and the wrestlers and it’s gonna be awesome. I am so excited and I don’t know exactly when we’re gonna be able to tell the fans, but I know that it’s coming very soon. So stay tuned to AEW. Very soon there will be more details. I promise you something big is coming. It’s not like ‘the first dance’ (CM Punk’s debut) where like I can put a date, a time and a place on it and say I know exactly when, but it is like the first dance in that I know something big and important is coming to AEW and I’m very excited about it. It’s a little bit different than anything we’ve done before, but it’s gonna be awesome.”

Last week, Khan was reportedly “in meetings all day” at one point trying to get the deal done, according to Dave Meltzer.

On Busted Open Radio last week, Khan said about the announcement, “I’m working on something pretty big. It would be massive. And [I don’t know] if it’s what anybody would expect it is or think it is, but it would be a big deal in pro wrestling. And I’m looking forward to hopefully making it happen. Stay tuned. I hopefully will get it done and have more to announce soon.”
