Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho AEW Contracts Status Updates

As noted before, two of AEW’s founding talents Brandi and Cody Rhodes recently left the company due to neither side being able to come to terms for a new deal.

Two of AEW’s other founding talents includes Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho.

In regards to the status of Omega’s contract status, Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Omega’s current deal is set to expire on February 23, 2023. Meltzer reported that it is currently not known how Omega is feeling at the moment due to him currently being away rehabbing from several injuries.

In regards to the status of Jericho’s contract status, Meltzer reported that Jericho’s current deal is set to expire in early 2024. Meltzer also reported that AEW had picked up the two-year extension option on Jericho’s contract in January of 2020.


WWE, Good Brothers, & William Regal File New Trademarks

WWE, The Good Brothers, and William Regal recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

A trademark for “NXT LVL UP” was filed by WWE on February 12th for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.

A trademark for “The BC” was filed by the Good Brothers’ Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows on February 10th for merchandise and entertainment-related purposes.

Trademarks for “William Regal” and “Lord Steven Regal” were filed by William Regal on February 9th for merchandise and entertainment-related purposes.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Joe Dombrowski and Larry Dallas reportedly will be the English commentary team for Lucha Libre AAA’s Rey de Reyes 2022 event on FITE TV on February 19th in Veracruz, Mexico, according to the Wrestling Observer.

FITE TV recently announced that they will be offering an alternative commentary option for Impact Wrestling’s No Surrender 2022 event on February 19th on their service. It was announced that this alternative commentary team will feature SoCal Val, Lisa Marie Varon, and Traci Brooks.

PROGRESS Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding an all-women’s event called Who Run The World? on March 22nd in London, England.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced that Minoru Suzuki and Mascara Dorada (former Gran Metalik in WWE) will be making appearances for the company at their upcoming events in the United States. Suzuki was announced to be appearing at their Lonestar Shootout event on April 1st in Dallas, Texas and their Windy City Riot event on April 16th in Chicago, Illinois. Dorada was announced to be appearing at their NJPW Strong Style Evolved event on March 20th in Tampa, Florida.

NJPW also announced that due to the severity of Hiroyoshi Tenzan’s right knee injury, they have pulled him from the remainder of their New Years Golden Series tour.

Major League Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding new tapings for their MLW Fusion series on July 16th in Chicago, Illinois.

MLW also recently announced a new match for the card of their SuperFight 2022 event on February 26th in Charlotte, North Carolina:
