WWE WrestleMania 38 News: Overall Attendance, Google Searches, Night 2 Producers, More

Overall Attendance Number for WrestleMania 38

WrestleTix reported that the overall attendance for this past weekend’s WWE WrestleMania 38 event in Arlington, Texas was around 131,772. The first night on April 2nd was reported to be 65,719 while the second night on April 3rd was reported to be 65,653.

In regards to splits, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer reported in Monday’s Daily Update that at least 11,000 of those tickets would have been comp tickets based on the numbers known as of this past Thursday. Meltzer reported that the final amount of comp tickets likely will be higher due to more comp tickets usually are given out during the final days leading up to an event.

In regards to claimed attendance, WWE announced that 156,352 total fans attended their two-night WrestleMania 38 event.


Total Google Searches for WrestleMania 38

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that WWE’s WrestleMania 38 event generated a total of two million searches on Google.

Meltzer reporetd that the split was 1,550,000 searches for Night 1 this past Saturday and 450,000 searches for Night 2 this past Sunday. In regards to talent, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the most searched at 500,000, followed by Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at 200,000 each.


WrestleMania 28 Night 2 Producers

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the following people were the match producers for Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 event in Arlington, Texas:

WrestleMania 38 News & Notes

WWE recently released a “behind the scenes” video of Cody Rhodes return to the company at this past weekend’s WrestleMania 38 event.

WWE referees Daphanie LaShaunn and Jessika Carr revealed on social media that they made history at WWE’s WrestleMania 38 event this past weekend. LaShaunn stated on Twitter that she became the first female African American to officiate a match in WrestleMania history. Carr stated on Instagram that LaShaunn and herself became the first female referees in WWE history to officiate back-to-back matches at a WrestleMania event.

This past Saturday’s WrestleMania 38 Night 1 event featured The Miz & Logan Paul defeating The Mysterios in a tag team match. Following the match, The Miz launched a surprise attack on Paul. Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that the reason for Miz turning on his partner after the match was due to Paul’s deal with WWE included terms for a babyface turn after his storyline angle with The Mysterios was over. Meltzer stated “When they made the deal with Logan Paul to do this angle, part of the deal was when the angle is over, he’d be a babyface. That was the idea. That was negotiated, that was negotiated in the deal.” (Transcript h/t: F4WOnline.com)

As noted before, WWE had plans at one point for Drew McIntyre to be given a special entrance for his match at WrestleMania 38. Those plans were originally reported to have been scrapped due to timing-related issues. Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the real reason why WWE scrapped their plans for McIntyre’s special entrance was due to a request from McIntyre since he felt the kilted warriors did not enhance his entrance and wanted to connect with the crowd instead that night.
