Leyla Hirsch Underwent Surgery for ACL Injury

As noted before, Leyla Hirsch has been out of action for AEW since suffering a knee injury this past April.

Hirsch recently provided an update on Twitter revealing that she had suffered a torn ACL and underwent successful surgery on Thursday. Hirsch also thanked everyone who has shown their support towards her well-being.


Full Card for Saturday’s Episode of NJPW Strong

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced the full card for this Saturday’s Mutiny Night 3 themed episode of NJPW Strong, which will air on New Japan World starting at 8PM EST.

  • Fred Yehi, Kevin Knight, & The DKC vs. Stray Dog Army (Misterioso, Barrett Brown, & Bateman)
  • David Finlay vs. Blake Christian
  • United Empire (Jeff Cobb, Mark Davis, & Kyle Fletcher) vs TMDK (JONAH, Shane Haste &, Bad Dude Tito)

WWE & CyberFight File New Trademarks

WWE and CyberFight recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

A trademark for the Wrestle Universe logo was filed by Pro Wrestling NOAH and DDT Pro Wrestling’s parent company CyberFight on May 17th for wrestling and merchandise-related purposes. Wrestle Universe is the streaming service owned by CyberFight.

A trademark for “Max Dupri” was filed by WWE on May 19 for wrestling and entertainment-related purposes.

A trademark for “Maximum Male Models” was also filed by WWE on May 23rd for similar purposes.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Mick Foley revealed that he will be launching a new podcast series called Foley is Pod on June 3rd on the Podcast Heat network.

Former WWE NXT talent Candice LeRae recently reopened her official store at Pro Wrestling Tees. LeRae departed from WWE earlier this month following the expiration of her contract with the company.

Indie wrestler Veda Scott recently announced on Twitter that she and Impact Wrestling talent “Speedball” Mike Bailey got married this past Wednesday.

DDT Pro Wrestling recently announced that their fans will be allowed to verbally cheer at their events starting with their July 7th event in Tokyo, Japan.

Warrior Wrestling recently announced that they have pulled Will Ospreay from the card of their Warrior Wrestling 22 event this Saturday in Collinsville, Illinois due to Ospreay’s current kidney infection illness. It was also announced that Lance Archer will be replacing Ospreay at the event.

As noted before, former wrestler Tammy Sytch was arrested earlier this month following a police investigation into a fatal car accident involving Sytch this past March. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Sytch was officially served her civil lawsuit filed by the estate of Julian L. Lasseter on May 13th in Florida. Johnson reported that this lawsuit was originally filed on April 12th but legal issues involving officers being unable to serve her the lawsuit at her home in New Jersey due to her arrest in Florida was the reason for the month long delay.

ESPN sports reporter Marc Raimondi recently announced on Twitter that he is currently in the process of writing a book about history and influence of the nWo in wrestling. Raimondi revealed that the current working title of his book is “For Life: The Inside Story of Pro Wrestling’s New World Order, and how it changed America.”

During a recent interview with the Busted Open Radio podcast, Major League Wrestling owner Court Bauer stated that the company recently signed Lance Anoa’i to an official contract.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced a new match for the card of their NJPW Strong themed Ignition 2022 event on June 19th in Los Angeles, California:

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yuya Uemura vs. Jay White & Hikuleo

During a recent interview with the MackMania podcast, Gisele Shaw revealed that she recently signed an official contract with Impact Wrestling. Shaw stated:

“My dream and goal was WWE, but we’re so focused on that one thing, we almost forget to live in the now. I’m super happy at IMPACT. They’ve taken a chance on me and I can’t wait to kick butt and show them that their investment is worth it. As of right now, my goal is to get signed and I got signed. I need to perform to the best of my ability.”
