Nielsen Issues Ratings Correction for WWE SmackDown & AEW Rampage June 17th Shows

Television ratings and data analyst firm Nielsen Holdings reportedly recently issued corrections to their ratings data report for the date of June 17th, according Wrestlenomics.

Brandon Thurston reported that Nielsen stated that they had accidentally undercounted out-of-home viewership numbers for last week’s shows and issued updated ratings numbers with the corrections included.

In regards to WWE’s SmackDown show last week, it drew 2,389,000 viewers, up from its originally stated final 2,290,000 viewers. WWE’s key demographic rating for that week’s show was 0.62, up from its original 0.57 rating.

In regards to AEW’s Rampage show last week, it drew 369,000 viewers, up from its originally stated 331,000 viewers. AEW’s key demographic rating for that week’s show was 0.12, up from its original 0.10 rating.


Full Card for Saturday’s Episode of NJPW Strong

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced the full card for this Saturday’s Collision in Philadelphia Night 3 themed episode of NJPW Strong, which will air on New Japan World starting at 8:00PM EST.

  • David Finlay vs. Danny Limelight
  • Tony Deppen vs. Minoru Suzuki
  • NJPW Strong Openweight Championship – Fred Rosser vs. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor (c)

Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Wrestling Entertainment Series recently announced the updated full card for their rescheduled debut event on July 9th in Nottingham, England.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that recent rumors of “Speedball” Mike Bailey suffering an injury at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary 2022 event are not true based on his sources. Johnson reported that while several talent did suffer injuries at the event, Bailey was not one of them. Johnson also reported that the reason why Bailey did not make an appearance at the following night’s set of Impact tapings in Nashville was due to him not being factored in the creative plans and direction Impact officials had in place coming out of the event.

AEW coach Jerry Lynn reportedly was seen in attendance at Impact Wrestling’s set of television tapings this past Monday in Nashville, Tennessee, according to PWInsider.

Lucha Libre AAA and NFT company Orange Comet announced that they have recently signed a multi-year partnership deal for AAA-based NFTs.

Terminus recently announced that their next event called TERMINUS 3 will be taking place on July 21st in Atlanta, Georgia.

This past Thursday’s Battle Riot IV event for Major League Wrestling featured the official MLW debut of Parker Boudreaux (former Harland in WWE). Boudreaux made his debut as one of the surprise entrants in the Battle Riot match at the event.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding a new event called Music City Mayhem on July 30th in Nashville, Tennessee. It was also announced that this event will be held as part of Starrcast’s upcoming Starrcast V convention in the city and tickets for this upcoming event will officially go on sale starting on June 27th.

Starrcast recently announced that NJPW will be involved with Jim Crockett Promotion’s upcoming Ric Flair’s Last Match event on July 31st in Nashville. Details regarding NJPW’s involvement with the event were not revealed at the time.
