AEW: CM Punk Injury Update, Christian Cage Injury Update, Countdown to All Out 2022 Ratings

CM Punk Injury Status Update

As noted before, CM Punk suffered an injury during his match against Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at AEW’s All Out 2022 event this past Sunday.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported this his sources confirmed that Punk had suffered a torn left triceps injury following a dive spot to Moxley early into their match at the event. Those same sources reportedly also stated that it is currently not known if Punk has had surgery yet for the injury nor a potential timetable for his return.

Punk is currently rumored to have been suspended by AEW for the foreseeable future following his backstage fight with Nick Jackson after AEW’s All Out 2022 event, which also involved Matt Jackson, Kenny Omega, and AEW producer Ace Steel.


Christian Cage Injury Status Update

As noted before, Christian Cage recently suffered an arm-related injury prior to AEW’s All Out 2022 event this past Sunday and was the reason why his match against Jungle Boy at the event was very short in length.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Cage is currently believed to have suffered a torn triceps injury. Meltzer reported that Cage likely be out of action for AEW for at least the next eight months due to that being the usual rehab time for that type of injury.


AEW Countdown to All Out 2022 Ratings – Sept. 2, 2022

AEW’s Countdown to All Out special drew 229,000 viewers on TNT.

It drew a 0.04 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a #94 ranking in the key demographic rankings.

AEW’s Countdown to Forbidden Door on June 24, 2022 drew 212,000 viewers and a 0.05 18-49 rating.
