Hangman Page Injured on Dynamite (Update: Concussion)

Update:

AEW posted an update saying that Page was diagnosed with a concussion.

Hangman Adam Page was taken tonight by medical personnel to a Cincinnati trauma center and diagnosed with a concussion. He was discharged, but will remain in AEW’s concussion protocol.

AEW and Hangman Page are grateful for the exemplary response and care of staff and local medical personnel, and are appreciative of the love and support of fans everywhere.

Dave Meltzer also added that Page is said to be “doing fine.”

Original Story:

Hangman Page suffered a legitimate injury during his match against Jon Moxley tonight on Dynamite, which resulted in the referee stopping the match early.

As of now, the details of the injury are unclear. PWInsider reported that one source “believes [Page] may have suffered a concussion,” but they said that they can’t 100% confirm that.

Page was being checked out by medical staff backstage after the match and was brought to a local hospital to be examined, PWInsider added.

The injury happened with about 11 minutes left in the show when Moxley hit Page with a clothesline, which flipped him over. Page appeared to land on the side of his head. The referee went to check on him, then AEW doctor Michael Sampson came in, and after a few seconds, the referee called off the match and declared Moxley the winner due to injury.

The commentary team appeared flustered and tried to kill time as Page was checked out. The cameras cut away from the ring, but commentary said that Page was stretchered out. The crowd could be heard chanting “cowboy shit.”

After a couple of minutes of commentary running down upcoming cards, Moxley got on the mic and said he hoped and prayed that Page recovers, then went into an angle calling out MJF.
