Andrade El Idolo said on Twitter today that he recently underwent surgery for a torn pectoral muscle that he suffered “a few months ago.”
“My first surgery. I can’t believe it happened. A few months ago, I tore my pectoral,” he tweeted. “Thank god! I could and wanted to finish my match. I kept working because I love the business but we know that many people do not value your effort. These days off I took the opportunity to go to the doctor.”

In the tweet, he posted a photo from what appears to be an AEW Trios tournament match on Dynamite on August 17, possibly implying that that’s when he suffered the injury. Since that match, he only wrestled in the Casino Ladder Match at All Out on September 4.
Andrade was reportedly “sent home” by AEW in early October after a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara.
