AEW: AR Fox Signs Contract, Andrade El Idolo Injury Update, Tony Khan on Ricky Steamboat in AEW

AR Fox Signs Contract with AEW

Prior to the start of Wednesday’s AEW show in Indianapolis, Indiana, AEW CEO Tony Khan announced on Twitter that AR Fox recently signed an official contract with the company.

Prior to his signing, Fox had made several appearances on AEW since this past July primarily on AEW Dark and Dark Elevation.

Andrade El Idolo Injury Status Update

As noted before, Andrade El Idolo has been away from AEW since this past October following a backstage incident with Sammy Guevara. Andrade revealed this past Monday that he recently underwent surgery for a torn pectoral muscle.

In a follow up tweet, Andrade confirmed that his injury occurred during the AEW World Trios Championship match between The Elite and La Faccion Ingobernable on the August 17th AEW Dynamite show. Andrade stated that he suffered the injury early into the match from a suplex spot but worked through the injury for the remainder of the match.

Tony Khan Comments on Being Interested in Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat Appearing Again in AEW

As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat made an appearance for AEW at their AEW Dynamite House of Dragon special this past August. Steamboat was the guest timekeeper for the Best 2-out-of-3 Falls match between Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia at the show.

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast had AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts on his interest in having Steamboat make another appearance in AEW in the future.

“It’s definitely something to keep in mind. I think it’s amazing that Ricky Steamboat got back in the ring. FTR, one of the greatest tag teams on the planet. I’m excited tonight for Dax Harwood to go one on one with Bryan Danielson, two of the best pro wrestlers in the world. It’s certainly something to think about, Ricky Steamboat’s last match, one of my personal heroes. Somebody, as a kid, one of my all-time favorites and to this day one of my all-time favorites. I do think he was a great part of AEW already when he came in as the guest timekeeper.

I would love to have Ricky Steamboat back in AEW any time.”
