AEW reportedly made several changes to their original plans for this past week’s AEW Dynamite and Rampage New Year’s Smash 2022 themed shows due to travel-related issues, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources stated that several notable talents who were originally booked for this past Wednesday’s shows in Denver, Colorado were unable to travel for the shows due to serious weather-related issues. These issues mostly affected AEW talents traveling out of Buffalo, New York, such as Daniel Garcia, but also included Britt Baker, Eddie Kingston, and Sarray.
It was also reported that due to the amount of talent unavailable for this past Wednesday’s shows, AEW CEO Tony Khan made several big changes to his original plans for those shows. This included the build for Sarray’s mystery tag team partner storyline and Kingston & Ortiz’s storyline with House of Black being put on hold as a result.
It was reported that the general backstage reaction was positive over how the company handled the changes that were made and the positive reception from fans for the shows.
