Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Adam Page

They do NOT attack each other before the bell, but once the bell rings they are brawling. The crowd is clearly on the side of Page as it starts, but then when Mox has the upper hand, they chant for him. After a big brawl start, Mox and Page work an arm bar that keeps the crowd into it. They go back to brawling into the picture in picture, and the announcer put over that the new barricades are stronger. I think the last thing they need at AEW is more ways for people to get injured

When they come back to full screen, Mox has another submission hold, and while they have built this as to men who want to kill each other, Mox and Page are using these submissions to draw the crowd in deeper. When they aren’t doing that, it’s a lot of lariats and blows, so they are going with a solid pace to keep the crowd invested. This match reminds me a lot of a meat and potatoes Steve Austin TV match where they do a lot with the brawling and not doing a lot of splashy moves. In the end, Page gets the Buckshot Lariat for the pin and the win.

Winner: Adam Page

After the match, the doctor comes into the ring to check on Mox.

When we come back from the break, Mox is being checked by the backstage doctors.

In-Ring: Adam Cole

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and it’s time for Adam Cole to return. Tony doesn’t stay in the ring and the crowd gives Cole a long ovation. He talks about how he was banged up and didn’t know he would be coming back to the ring, and when he says he is back and he’s going to show everyone he’s the best ever. Sure seems like a big babyface promo. They didn’t have anyone interrupt, they didn’t have anyone jump him. Good. Gives it time for his return to settle into people’s minds.

Backstage: The Acclaimed, Daddy Ass

We then go to a pre-tape with The Acclaimed and they will be getting stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday.

Hook & Jungle Boy vs. Lee Moriarty & Big Bill Morrissey

The hold off on tagging in Big Bill until near the end of the first segment, and the story of the match is Jungle Boy going after Lee Moriarty, with Hook coming in here and there, and then saving JB from an attack from Big Bill outside the ring. Also, JB isn’t doing a lot of the high flying stuff, which is a good idea since we’re getting the big Car Crash Ladder match for the main event. In the second segment, we get Hook facing off with Big Bill, and Hook shows no fear. After a drop kick from JB, Hook gets the overhead suplex on Bill. The match ends with JB getting the snare trap on Lee and Hook keeping Bill out of the ring.

Winner: Hook and Jungle Boy

Backstage: Orange Cassidy, Danhausen, Best Friends, Paul Walter Hauser

In the back, Orange Cassidy, Danhausen and Paul Walter Hauser are with Renee, and Hauser says he will show his hardware on Rampage. The Best Friends come out and they say all is well between them.

In-Ring: MJF, Konosuke Takeshita

MJF comes out after Takeshida comes to the ring. MJF says he’s never seen Takeshida because he only watches his own segments. He then mocks Takeshida’s name and tell shim to beat Bryan. They get in each other’s faces and after Takeshida shoves MJF, MJF tells the ref to get him out of the ring or he’ll be fined.

MJF then talks about how he can last an hour with fans’ moms, sisters, and girlfriends. He then heels Bryan, the fans, Ken Jeong, Freddy Prinze Jr. (who he calls a scooby dooby douchebag), and the fans.

Bryan’s got short hair again and MJG takes off up the ramp. And MJF running up the ramp, arms flailing, is the best thing so far on the show.

Bryan Danielson vs. Konosuke Takeshita

They start fast and go hold for hold. Bryan even has a counter to the Blue Thunder Bomb. They then move to mat wrestling with Takeshida having a reversal to the Dragon Sleeper. They then switch to strikes. This section has a deliberate pace and the crowd is along for the ride, cheering for each strike. Even though Takeshida hasn’t won a match in AEW, the crowd sees him as a top guy.

The chop have been so stiff that Bryan’s chest is busted open again, and that’s just crazy to me. When we come back from picture in picture, Takeshida knocks Bryan off the top with a clothesline. They move to brawling on the floor and Takeshida gets a sheer drop brain buster and then hits a senton from the middle of the third rope, but Bryan gets the knees up. After that, they move to big power attacks with kicks and strikes. The thing I love about Bryan’s AEW matches is how to goes for different styles through his matches.

Bryan wraps the match by stomping Takeshida’s head in, and as he locks him in the Regal lock, Takeshida is knocked out.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

Backstage: Juice Robinson

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. & Jamie Hayter vs. Saraya & Toni Storm

Hayter and Storm start out. I know Saraya is the focus tonight, but this is what I have been waiting for. They have a greats lockup and battle around the ring. Saraya tags in and Hayter bounces around the ring for her. All four women start brawling around the ring after Storm tags back in and as they are fighting, Shida comes to the ring.

We come back from picture in picture for Saraya and Baker to finally be in the ring. They have a good set of moves, but when Storm tags in, Storm has an intensity with her moves that pulls you in as a viewer. Hayter and Baker double team Storm. We get all four women in the ring, but it goes back to Storm and Hayter. Shida tosses in the kendo stick, and Baker nails Storm with it. Hayter then gets the Hayterade for the pin and the win.

Winners: Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker

Shida is shocked that the Kendo stick was used on Storm.

In-Ring: Jericho Appreciation Society, Ricky Starks & Action Andretti

Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society gets their time in the ring, all in glittering gold blazers. They put themselves over and Jericho talks about how the invaded PWG. Jericho says the Ricky Starks Experiment is over.

So, Ricky Starks comes out with Action Andretti. They trade verbal jabs at each other. Starks then challenges Jake Hager for next week. It was an OIK segment, but Ricky hasn’t been able to hit a home run since a few weeks ago, and he needs to every time he comes out.

AEW World Trios Championship Match 7
Escalera de la Muerte
Death Triangle (c) vs. The Elite

With this being the The Elite’s home turf, the match leans toward them. They have ladders and tables already set up, so the difference in this match form the other will be a lot of crazy ladder spot. First person to go through a table is Kenny, who leaps at Pac, and Pac dodges for Kenny to go through the table. Before that, they have a lot of quick spots and attempts at going up the ladder leading a suplexes and worse.

We do get a lot of ladder based spots on the picture in picture, and I would think they would save that for when they are full screen.

When we come back to full screen,. We start getting the big spots, and once again, Pac seems like it’s in the different match as he is focused on climbing that ladder. The crowd is exploding for it, since this is what AEW?was started with, this big spot, high flying stuff. Pac hammer spot is on Kenny, and then his slams Kenny on the floor before climbing up, stopped by Matt Jackson. The Lucha Bros set up a ladder across the ropes to another ladder so that Penta can hit a Fear Factor on the ladder, and then Kenny does a One Winged Angel from the ladders. Pac goes for a Black Arrow but Kenny gets his feet up. Kenny is then able to climb the ladder and grab one of the belts for the win.
