WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 Update – Two New Matches Added, Three Matches Updates, Updated Card

Two New Matches Added to NXT Stand & Deliver 2023

Tuesday’s NXT show featured two new matches officially added to the card of WWE’s NXT Stand & Deliver 2023 event on April 1st in Los Angeles, California.

The first new match announced was a NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat match of Tony D’Angelo & Stacks vs. Creed Brothers vs. Gallus (c). During the show, Gallus’ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang and the Creed Brothers’ Julius & Brutus Creed held a friendly pool and darts competition at a local bar resulting in them being tied at one win each. Julius Creed suggested for Gallus to put up their NXT Tag Team titles on the line at Stand & Deliever 2023 as the tie breaker, which Gallus agreed. While leaving the bar, Gallus and Creed Brothers were interrupted by D’Angelo and Stacks who wanted to have some business talks. In a follow-up segment later in the show, all six men were revealed to be in a drunken state after some drinks and games leading to Wolfgang suggesting for their tag team titles match to become a Triple Threat instead.

The second and final new match announced was an Eight-Person Tag Team match between The Schism and Chase University & Tyler Bate. This match was made following a debate contest segment between the two group which resulted in Duke Hudson putting the ownership of Chase University on the line in return for The Schism to leave them alone if they lost the match.

Match Updates for North American Championship, Gargano vs. Waller, & Women’s Championship

Tuesday’s NXT show also featured updates to three existing matches on the card for NXT Stand & Deliver 2023.

The first match update involved the NXT Women’s Championship Ladder match. Tiffany Stratton defeated Indi Hartwell and Lyra Valkyria defeated Ivy Nile in qualifying matches to secure the final two spots in the NXT Women’s Championship Ladder match. Stratton and Valkyria joins Gigi Dolin and Zoey Stark as the official competitors for the match.

The second match update involved the NXT North American Championship Fatal Five-way match. During a backstage interview, Wes Lee announced that he has hand picked Dragon Lee, JD McDonaugh, and Ilja Dragunov to be three of the four opponents for his NXT North American Championship at Stand & Deliver 2023. Lee also stated that the final opponent will be determined in a battle royal match that will be taking place on next week’s NXT show.

The third and final match update involved the Johnny Gargano vs. Grayson Waller match. During a promo segment by Javier Bernal badmouthing Gargano and mocking his entrance theme, Gargano interrupted and assaulted Bernal. Gargano then gave a promo directed towards Waller and offered a new stipulation for their match at Stand & Deliver 2023. This stipulation was revealed to be for their match to be held under Unsanctioned rules. Waller interrupted Gargano and stated that he would only agree to the new stipulation under the condition that Gargano was not allowed to be physically present at next week’s NXT show or else their match is off.
