Ronda Rousey Comments on “Dismally Shallow” WWE Women’s Tag Division

This past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Albany, New York featured Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in a Four-way match for the vacant titles.

The New York Post held a recent interview with Rousey. One of the topics discussed included Rousey’s thoughts on her issues with WWE’s handling of the Women’s Tag Team division and the division itself being “dismally shallow” in terms of quality teams.

“Well, the lack of competition is really the problem. I mean, we want to be the most active champions out there. I want to be able to defend this title every week and even twice a week on both ‘SmackDown’ and ‘Raw’. But with how dismally shallow the women’s division is right now, there’s not enough women around here to keep us busy for a month. So that’s the biggest challenge that we have is to get this company to actually care and invest into this tag division.

It was like the entire women’s division just got stripped clean. Now we’re the women that are the women that are left trying to piece together, you know, stories and a division, a tag division with around 10 women or even less on each roster. I mean, we’re trying the best that we can to make chicken shit into chicken salad, and we made some amazing chicken salad (Monday night).”

Rousey also gave her thoughts about her pairing with Baszler and why it is different compared to other women tag teams who have held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

“I think that’s the one thing that really sets us apart from every single person, every single tag team in, in the history of this company is that we’ve, we came here already tested and we came here already closer than anyone’s ever been. We’ve literally fought together, bled together, cried together everything. So there’s nothing that’s going to tear us apart, especially not a fantasy-land company like this.”

Logan Paul Comments on Being “Hungry & Excited” to Return to WWE

A recent episode of the Impaulsive podcast featured co-host Logan Paul’s thoughts about his eagerness to return to WWE and get back into a ring.

“I am so hungry to get back in there dude. I am so hungry to get back in there and I just got cable. I just got cable down here in Puerto Rico so I’ve been watching Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown and the big events. Night of Champions just happened. As a fan, and for the first time, I’m watching the consumer angle. I didn’t always do that. As a YouTuber, I got to go and be a YouTuber because I knew what people are looking for, what they wanted and what made a good video and kept the audience retained. Now, as a WWE fan, I can see how the performance translates from what it feels like from my perspective to on TV and I think this angle and these last three months I’ve had off in this sport will lead to an amazing next couple of years in the WWE… I’ll really excited to get back.”
