Stardom Talent Reportedly Not Expected to be Involved for Forbidden Door II

As noted before, AEW and Stardom have held recently talks regarding Stardom talent potentially working at AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s upcoming Forbidden Door II event in Toronto, Canada. One potential big obstacle involves Stardom holding their own event in Japan on the same night of Forbidden Door on June 25th.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources within Stardom stated that the company had not been contacted by AEW for potential Stardom talent to work at Forbidden Door II. Meltzer reported that Stardom officials had been under the belief that since none of their talent currently have work visas for Canada, they would not be legally allowed to work at the event. Stardom officials reportedly later learned that pro wrestlers are exempt from needing a work visa to work at a wrestling event in Canada which would have resolved that issue.

Meltzer reported that all of Stardom’s key talent are currently booked for their own event that day and those spoken to stated that there had been no talks between AEW and Stardom officials for potential Stardom talent to work at Forbidden Door II as of Saturday. Stardom talent reportedly are currently under the belief that none of them will be scheduled to work at AEW and NJPW’s co-promoted event.
